How to become a Registrar |

A: PREAMBLE
- “Registrar” - a subject entitled to access in a defined way the Central Register and submits requests for the changes of records administered by the Central Register. All changes of the Central Register can be done only through a Registrar.
- tzNIC accepts applications for Registrar accreditation on a rolling basis. There is no deadline for receipt of applications for Registrar accreditation.
- The aspiring Registrar is requested to submit concise, thorough answers and all necessary supporting documents that will facilitate quick processing of the application. The main reasons for delay in application processing include missing supporting documents and incomplete or vague answers to application questions.
B: REQUIREMENTS In order to apply as .tz registrar the aspiring Registrar must:-
- Prove to be legally registered or incorporated entity having a registered office (permanent physical address) in the United Republic of Tanzania.
- Fill in truthfully Registrar Accreditation Application Form and have it certified by Commissioner of Oath.
- Clearly understand and agree to terms and conditions as stipulated in tzNIC operational documents listed in part (C).
C: THE PROCESS
The aspiring Registrar after satisfying the conditions and requirements herein above shall:- 1. Download the following tzNIC operational documents which form part of the overall Agreement between tzNIC and Registrar: - 2. The aspiring Registrar must read and understand the above documents and fully agree with terms and conditions contained therein. The following documents shall then be completed in duplicate: -
- (i) Registrar Accreditation Application Form
- (ii) Registration Agreement
The completed documents could then be hand delivered or sent by mail/courier to tzNIC at the following address: - Tanzania Network Information Centre Limited (tzNIC) LAPF Millennium Towers; Ground Floor, Suite 04 P.O Box 34543, Dar es Salaam, TANZANIA.
3. tzNIC will review received applications within a period of 2 Weeks. At the end of the review which may consist of various ways of fact findings (including site visits), confirmations and research, the outcome of the review will be communicated to the Applicant.
4. tzNIC will return a signed Registration Agreement to successful Applicant and will also contact the Applicant for operational and administrative details including among others the Access code (userid/password) and Applicant’s IP addresses that will be used to access the .tz Registry.
Note:(a) Certified translation must be attached with all documents written in a different language other than Swahili and English. (b) Any untruthful information will be considered as the breach of the agreement as provided by clause 2.5 of the Registration Agreement. The termination will be immediate.
