tzNIC was among the stakeholders in the communication sector who participated in the exhibitions at Mnazi mmoja from 6^th to 9^th November 2011 to commemorate Tanzania's 50 years of independence. During the exhibitions tzNIC showcased the achievements and milestones realized in the management and administration of the .tz country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD).

tzNIC staff informed the local Internet community that .tz is a communication resource meant for all Tanzanians for secure and reliable communications through the Internet and  that .tz registry is fully managed within the country since 2010. It is very unfortunate that not all Tanzanians have registered or use .tz domain names. The public was informed that .tz domains have inbuilt credible identity associated with Tanzania and that its use contributes to diminution of Internet connectivity costs.

As a conclusion, tzNIC called upon all Tanzanians to contribute to the local management of the .tz registry by registering and using .tz domains. tzNIC believes that true independence in communication through the Internet is only possible if and only if the .tz ccTLD is sustainably managed within the country. As the current digital economy relies on secure, reliable and affordable communication go for your .tz domain as it has the above stated qualities.
