AfNOG and AfriNIC events to be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from 29th May to 10th June 2011 Print E-mail

The AfNOG -12 and AfriNIC-14 training and meetings will be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from 29th May to 10th June 2011. The AfNOG trainings that focus on developing capacity of Network Engineers in Africa, has six tracks and will take place at White sands hotel. The AfNOG/AfriNIC policy meetings will take place at Kunduchi Beach hotel just after completion of the trainings on 6th June 2010.

The six tracks that will be covered during the workshop and which targets the senior and mid-level technical staff of commercial Internet service providers (ISPs), Telecommunication Networks, academic networks, Government networks or NGO networks are:

  • SS-E - Scalable Internet Services (in English): This focuses on the design and operation of email, web, and   other Internet services, in ways that can scale to handle large numbers of end users;
  • SI-E - Scalable Network Infrastructure (in English): This focuses on the design and operation of networks using routers and switches, in ways that can scale to handle large numbers of interconnected sites;
  • NM - Network Monitoring & Management (in English);
  • AR - Advanced Routing Techniques (in English)
  • CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team)Training (in English)
  • SI-F - Infrastructure Reseaux IP (in French): This is similar to track SI-E, but given in French.
