The Central IPv4 pool is gone... IPv6 now a must. Print E-mail

On 3rd Feb 2011 the world observed a historical moment when the last five /8 of IANA's IPv4 pool was finally allocated to the five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs). AfriNIC, the Internet Registry for Africa got 102/8 of the allocation. The depletion of IPv4 imply that the next generation of the Internet will now depend on the new IPv6 addresses.
