On 27th April 2010 tzNIC kick started the .tz domain renewal campaign. The campaign was inaugurated at Habari/Maelezo through a press conference with the media.  Campaign details are available in this  brochure.

Along with the domain renewal campaign, tzNIC informed the local internet community  on the 3 months  .tz domain registration promotion commencing on 1st May 2010 and expected to end on 31st July 2010. During this period the domain registration fee ranging from TZS 5,000 to TZS 25,000 will be waived and instead new registrants will pay the annual maintanance fee ONLY (viz., TZS 5,000 or TZS 20,000). Below are 4 simple steps that a domain holder should do to protect his .tz domain:

a)  Verify the registration details of your domain name
This is possible through tzNIC’s WHOIS service available at: http://whois.tznic.or.tz/whois.

 b)  Verify and update the .tz administrative contact information regularly
Contact tzNIC or your registrar by e-mail or telephone.

c) Consolidate the .tz domain names
If you have a number of domains registered through different registrars you can simplify their management by consolidating them to one registrar.

d) Renew your domain on time (after every year) or register it for maximum period of time
You can pay the renewal fee for your domain for a maximum of five (5) years at the time of registration or any time after registration.
