Today 11^th April 2012, two years after the redelegation of .tz ccTLD to tzNIC, the 5,000^th .tz domain has been registered.This represents an annual growth of about 1000 domains. tzNIC wishes to congratulate all active .tz accredited registrars for the achievement.

tzNIC has finally obtained Airtel mobile services (AirtelMoney) for its customers to settle the .tz domain registration and renewal payments. Below are the steps:

1. Select Pay bill
2. Select Others
3. Enter nickname - TZNIC
4. Enter  amount
5. Enter Pin number
6. Enter Reference - (Put company name or anything which will identify the payee)
7. Send information
8. Confirm the transaction

tzNIC would like to inform the Internet community that the promised expansion of the .tz Second Level Domain (SLD) has been finalized and registrants can now register domain names under the 5 new SLDs namely .hotel.tz, .mobi.tz, .tv.tz, .info.tz and .me.tz. This is in addition to the existing SLDs .go.tz; .ac.tz; .mil.tz; .co.tz; .or.tz; .ne.tz and .sc.tz. 

On 5^th January 2012, tzNIC met with the .tz accredited Registrars at Holiday Inn hotel in Dar es Salaam. During the meeting tzNIC updated the registrars on the following issues:
i)    .tz registry infrastructure - F root hosting at tzNIC and DNSSEC deployment;
ii)    New policy on domain registration refund;
iii)    New SLDs establishment for increased registrant (consumer) competition, innovation and choice;
iv)   .tz domain registrations - growth and fee (merged and with VAT added);
v)    3 months (January – March 2012) plan for 3R model adoption.
